Countless writers, artists and important foreign visitors must have passed through this gate

When you pass through the gate you'll find the entrance on your left. This is where the semicircular sign and large paper lantern in the first photo are hanging.

The glasses of these windows are wavy, old-fashioned ones called vidro in Portuguese, which proves the long history of this place located in an international city

The strong influence of western culture can be felt here

Customers in history must have gone home looking up at the happy faces of these masks

As a prestigious licensed quarter with class, Kagetsu-ro entertained various customers, including foreign guests, with professional hospitality!

　江戸時代、江戸の吉原、京都の島原と共に天下の三大遊郭と謳われた長崎丸山。中でも丸山は鎖国期において唯一外国人を相手とする遊郭だった。

そして今回、丸山町にある史跡料亭”花月”を訪れる事が出来た！ここ花月は遊女屋引田屋本家の建物と庭を受け継ぎ、昭和３５年に長崎県史跡の指定を受け、全国でも珍しい史跡料亭として営業を続けている。文人墨客や幕末維新の志士達、異国の名だたる客人達と同じ空間で当時を偲びながら”しっぽく料理”を食す事が出来るのだ。
