Georges Rouault (1871 - 1958) was a French painter and printmaker primarily associated with the Expressionism and Fauvism artistic genres. Due to the influence of his Catholic faith, his artworks often depicted religious themes and other social commentary.
A special exhibition taking place at the Panasonic Shiodome Museum in celebration of their 20th anniversary will explore a variety of Rouault's works, with approximately 70 pieces from museums here in Japan and on loan from France to be displayed.
Adult admission to the event is priced at ¥ 1200, and advance reservations can be made if a specific date and time is needed. If you visit on May 18th which is International Museum Day, admission is only ¥ 500.
