桜色の粉河寺

境内一面柔らかな桜色で覆われていた

In front of a main hall, a deep-red Japanese umbrella made a striking contrast with pink cherry blossoms in full bloom

Everyone who was passing through the middle gate looked up and admired the gorgeous cherry blossoms

This main hall's roof is the largest roof of those of 33 Saigoku pilgrimage temples (Kansai region). The cherry blossoms are so impressive!

A statue of Komokuten, who guards the west direction, at the middle gate. He is said to have eyes that see thousands of miles away.

The sign on the middle gate was written by the tenth lord of Kishu-han (present-day Wakayama Prefecture)

I prayed at the main gate which was decorated in cherry blossom colors, and offered my expression of gratitude

２０１１年４月１０日　今から約４年前、花見で訪れた紀州和歌山の粉河寺。

西国三十三所と云う巡礼参拝の寺院で第三番目の札所に属する！粉河寺は約３５０００坪を有する広大な寺院で、２００ｍに及ぶ石畳を敷き詰めた参道を歩く。見事に咲誇る桜に溜息が零れ出る！中でも西国三十三所の寺院で最大と云われる本堂の甍を桜越しに眺める光景は言葉にならないくらい素晴らしい。そして参拝後、赤い番傘の処の床几に腰掛けながら、改めて桜色に輝く粉河寺に合掌した！
