Originally from Austria, I have lived in Japan since 1996. Making my home in Yokohama, my favorite photographic locations include Kamakura, where I lived for 13 years. The temples there and the always changing seasons are my main subject.
I currently work mostly with a Canon 5D MarkⅡ. This ensures really high quality prints of any size. Based on my vision for each image, I use various filters and digital techniques. My goal is to create the most exciting photographs possible. My equipment, be it cameras, software, printers, etc., is chosen for its ability to make this possible.
My vision of the scenery is of a place of beauty, a place where we can experience direct contact with nature and feel its silence and get nourishment from it. In this way we can find inspiration and freedom of expression.
The quality of my work is the results of two factors: hard work and a sense of seeing. I have been interested in art all my life. However, only through hard work did this natural ability result in the work I am creating today. Only hard work, dedication, and the decision to never give up are responsible for turning what may be called a natural style into images that are a representation of my vision.
To me a good picture is like a haiku. A never ending splash of eternal reality. In my photographs I look for this moment which brings all 3 important elements (color, gestures and shape) together to transform it into a real moment. The vision was always there. The ability to turn this vision into expressive images is something I have achieved after hard work and study.
I started photography in 2002 and I am starting to create some very satisfying images. It is my hope that, through these images, I can share some of this beauty with you.
