Ajinomoto Stadium (officially Tokyo Stadium for the Rugby World Cup 2019 due to commercial rules) is easily accessed from Tokyo Station—only 40 minutes—or Shinjuku Station—a 20-minute ride—and will host some of the biggest matches of the 2019 Rugby World Cup, including the opening ceremony on September 20, 2019. This amazing open-domed stadium can seat almost 50 thousand people. The stand is divided into two levels, upper and lower. The whole upper level, as well as upper tiers of the lower level, are covered by the open Teflon roof. Inside the stadium, should you get hungry during the game, you’ll find a variety of restaurant stands to cater to your tastes, offering both Japanese fare and western food. There really is no better place to kick off the Rugby World Cup than Ajinomoto Stadium.
