Shiogama, in Miyagi prefecture, is well-known as one of Japan's primary fishing ports. Being not too far away from Matsushima Bay, if you come to Shiogama Fish Market it is worthwhile trying Matsushima oysters. Matsushima, alongside Hiroshima, is famed for its oyster production.
