Fushimi Inari Taisha needs no further introduction other than a photo of its world-renowned river of red torii gates flowing into Mount Inari. You have seen this shrine in guide books, Memoirs of a Geisha and other films, or perhaps you have dreamed about seeing it in person. This shrine is everything you expect it to be. Aside from the countless tourists that are absent in photos, every depiction of the shrine is as breathtaking as the real thing. A visit to Kyoto is just too incomplete without a visit to Fushimi Inari Taisha.
