Yokohama's Negishi Forest Park

Former horse race track now a pleasant local park

This park (near JR Negishi Station) used to be a horse racetrack for over 80 years, mainly for the amusement of foreign residents. The grandstands (in ruins) still stand at the back of the park. Nowadays, runners and dogs (not horses!) are always out enjoying the trail that loops its way through the fields. In spring, plum blossoms, cherry blossoms, and spiraea come out one after another. The park is a place of rest and relaxation for everyone who visits.
