Rokkoku-kenzan (六国見山; Viewing six districts) is the hill behind Engaku-ji Temple. The view from there opens to almost 360 degrees. In the old days, six districts around Kamakura could be observed from here, and so that is the of the name of this hill. The starting point is Takano-dai Bus Stop. Go up the stone steps opposite the stop, and turn right. You will soon be able to see the entrance of the hiking course on the left. Enjoy the trail until you reach the hilltop. When the mountain path finishes, turn right and go down the slope. It will lead you to Meigetsu-in Temple near JR Kita-Kamakura Station. An index of this series is here.
