Masobyo Mausoleum (Mazu Miao Temple) is a new Taoist temple in Yokohama Chinatown established in 2006. About 1000 years ago, a woman who lived during the Song Dynasty was deified and enshrined as a Goddess for the safety of travelers in South China. Priest Toko Shinetsu brought a statue of the goddess to Japan around 1680. The goddess gives blessings for not only travels, but also health and happiness.
