鳳凰堂がリニューアル

宇治平等院鳳凰堂の修復がようやく完了しておめみえ

This is the scene that is stamped on the face of the 10-yen coin! The Phoenix Hall, was under renovation for two years, and finally made its first public re-appearance. It looks so beautiful, almost beyond recognition.

I waited for the entrance gate to open at 8:30 in the morning

What a fine day!

The autumn leaves around the Phoenix Hall added beauty to the newly renovated hall

Wonderful contrast between the blue sky and the vermilion Phoenix Hall

The maple trees in front of the pond were not turning color yet

The main chamber of the Phoenix Hall has a cutout window in the shape of a referees' fan, through which the statue of Amida Nyorai can be seen

In early mornings there are no ripples on the pond's surface, and you can enjoy the clear reflection of Phoenix Hall on the water surface

２０１４年１１月２３日、宇治平等院鳳凰堂を訪れた。

鳳凰堂は２０１２年９月より今年３月までの約１年と半年間、屋根の吹き替えや柱の塗り直しなど修理が行われリフレッシュされた。中堂の屋根の上、金色に輝く鳳凰と朱色に塗られた柱や壁の鮮やかさには眼を惹きつけられる。またこの日は雲一つ無い秋晴れの青空、青く高い空に映え、透明な池の水面にも映り込み、思い描いた通り、絶景とも云える鳳凰堂を眺める事が出来た。
