Chion-in Garden on a Rainy Day

Kyoto's Yūzen’en Garden in the early spring

It was a late afternoon in early May. The rain had stopped, and I had just left beautiful Entoku-in Garden. Kyoto's Higashiyama District was fresh and alive! Next stop: The Yūzen’en Garden of Chion-in Temple, just a few minutes up the street. The sky was still covered with clouds, so the atmosphere in the garden was dark, and with the wetness of the rain, quite beautiful. Nobody was there. I was impressed with the richness of colors here thanks to the rain that had just finished falling. Quiet. Serene. Stunningly beautiful.
